Over the past several years, I have learned from some of the finest members of our Armed Forces that if you have something on the calendar to train towards in order to keep you focused and motivated. They also taught me the phrase “one team one fight” and that if you don’t worry about who gets the credit, great things are accomplished. This is what attracted me to 3 person team adventure racing events. Training together towards for months, developing a plan/strategy, executing that plan on race day……and the adjusting the plan several times on race day to meet the unexpected, is a great sense of accomplishment. I continue to seek such challenges because the experience pays big dividends in all aspects of my life whether it be at work or at home with my wife and children.
